House A&B is a lovely modern residence with an impeccable neat interior, located in Perchtoldsdorf, Austria. Envisioned as an open living environment, graceful and elegant, the home was once a summerhouse. The owners, a couple that simply adores furniture and arts, wanted a home that clearly reflected their passions, their lifestyle and last, but not least, their spirit. Smertnik Kraut Architekten, the firm responsible with the renewal, understood the owners’ wish and came up with a simple, minimalistic house design. The house exhales elegance, despite its simple design and it integrates an infinity pool, bordered on one side by a green marble wall and a garden. “The white exterior building colour was chosen to convey the interaction with the plantation and the spacious glazed facade which harmonized with the white-turquoise swimming pool. Finally, the green marble-facing of the enclosure wall mediates a Mediterranean feeling.”

The terrace, perceived as an extension of the living room is that perfect place where one can relish his/her coffee slowly. The time stops for a while. It lets you breathe. No pressure. As soon as you step inside the house you get to experience the owners’ sophisticated style: the furniture made of rosewood, the chandelier, the unique paintings, the marble – all these items suggest that the inhabitants have cultivated their taste for design and arts.
